In hindsight, it seems inevitable that the game was destined for a controversial release, especially given the project's tumultuous history. WebCDPR burned through devs like crazy during the development of CP2077, especially towards the end. Since RED engine is internal to CDPR, no dev they hire will have prior experience with it. It doesn't matter how good your engine is, if you have no one that can use it, much less work on it. Unreal is good enough.
